TOYS FROM THE 1990's
The 1990's saw the introduction of several new Ultramen. Ultraman Great (1992), Ultraman Powered (1995), were both short lived series with only 13 episodes each. Although not very popular, both series had quite a few toys. The introduction of Ultraman Tiga in 1996, started a rebirth of all things Ultraman.
Tiga also introduced the concept of an Ultra being having the ability to change the look of it's costume. This feature was tailor made for the toy market. Now instead of buying one Ultraman doll..a child would have to buy 3 versions of Tiga....Multi Type , Sky Type, and Power Type.
This system was carried onto the next series, Ultraman Dyna, in 1997. In 1998, Ultraman Gaia debut. The show introduced a Ultraman with sometimes not so good intentions, Ultraman Agul.
Also, there were two Ultraman Zearth movies in 1996-97. Zearth is a spoof of the original Ultraman series.
Direct to video, was Ultraman Neos and Ultraseven 2-1...adding yet more toys to the Ultra family line.
