TOYS FROM THE 1980's

After nearly four years, a new Ultraman appeared on TV. This was Ultraman 80. However, this would be the only live action tv series for the entire decade. Anime was king...and even ultraman could not compete. In 1987,Tsuburaya released Ultraman USA, an animated movie featuring Ultra Chuck,Ultra Scott and Ultrawoman Beth. Popy and Bandai continued to release figures thru out the decade...even without a successful new series.

One of my favorite series of Ultraman figures are these from Popy. Known as the "Kingsaurus" series, all stand 12-1/2 inches tall.

Popy also released these hard plastic, small action figure sized, guys. Also a nice Ultraman 80 display case, which would hold all 16 figures.

Only 5 of the 16 were ultra figures. Ultraman and Ultraseven were re-released in the late 80's - early 90's.

Super giant size Ultra Jack. Very limited run from original molds, of this super rare and expensive Bullmark figure. Molded in all flesh colored vinyl.Limited to less than 100 copies. From around 1989 (?).

Interesting pair of hollow, poly-vinyl figures.Unlicensed , 10 " inches tall. 1970's-80's

Complete set of Popy Ultramen. 7 inches tall.

13 inch tall , Bandai Ultraman , late 80's

Plastic flying Ultraman by Popy. Unusual toy in that the head slides back for the flying position.

First edition, Popy Ultraman. Note that the eyes have soft yellow inserts.

Fantastic early Bandai electronic figure set. Ultraman flashes a beam at Gomera...causing him to roar ! 1984 Bandai
